HP Password Reset Windows 7 - Forgot Windows 7 Password on HP Laptop

Tip 1: Reset Windows 7 admin password with a Windows password reset disk.

Step 1: Start your laptop and insert your password reset disk. On the login screen, attempt to logon with a wrong password. System will show you a link for resetting password.

Step 2: Click the link to open “Password Reset Wizard”. Click “Next” to continue.

Step 3: Select your reset disk name from pull-down list and then click “Next”.

Step 4: Type a new password, type the password again to confirm, remember the password you just set, click “Next - Finish”.

Method 2: Run "lusrmgr.msc" to reset HP laptop Windows 7 password.

In Windows 7, there is an easy way to reset a forgotten user account password by just run the lusrmgr.msc. But you need to login your laptop with an account which has admin privileges. Note that resetting password with this tip might cause irreversible loss of information for the user account. This data loss will occur the next time the user logs off. You should use this command only if a user has forgotten his or her password and does not have a password reset disk.

Step 1. Start your HP laptop and log on with an available user account which has admin priviliges.

Step 2. Click “start” button, press "Win+R" to open "Run box". Type in "lusrmgr.msc" and hit Enter.

Step 3. Local Users and Computers appears, all user accounts of your computer will be list, right-click your user name and select “reset password”.

Step 4. Type in a new password and type it again to confirm it, clik OK.

After restarting you can login that user account with new password.
