1: Q:What is Word Password Rescuer?

A: Word Password Rescuer is an efficient way to recover MS Word password through four attacking methods: Brute-force attack, Brute-attack with Mask attack, Dictionary attack and Smart Attack. People can use the recovered password to open protected Word document.

 

2. Q:What versions of MS Word does it support?

A: Word Password Rescuer support all versions of Microsoft Word such as Word 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016. Supports file type: .doc, .docx.

 

3. Q:What is the system and hardware requirements of Word Password Rescuer?

A: Word Password Rescuer can run on Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP/2008/2003/2000(32-bit or 64-bit) even the newest Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012;

Computer hardware requirements:

1 GHz processor (2.4 GHz is recommended);
128 MB of RAM (1 GB is recommended);
4 MB of free hard disk space.

 

4. Q:What is brute-force attack?

A: This Attack will try all possible characters combinations in the specified Range. You can select the range from Brute-force "Range" and "Lenth" options. You can choose from all capital letters, all small letters, all digits, all special symbols and the space, or all printable (includes all of the above). The password recovery engine is highly optimized, thus short and simple password can be recovered immediately.

 

5. Q:What is brute-force with mask attack?

A: This Attack is useful when you remeber a part of Password. For example if you remember that length of your password was 5 characters and password begins from "A", you can define the mask "A????" and save the time by trying 4 symbols instead of 5. A Password Mask must be defined to use this Attack.

 

6. Q:What’s "Character Set"?

A: It is only available to "Brute-force with Mask Attack" which instructs the program what characters have been used in the password and restrict the search area.
a-z, 0-9,A-Z, -_?!@#$... : Defined by the Predefined Passwords Ranges. If the password contains these, check it.
User-defined : You can define your own Character Set for the Brute-Force Attack. Check "User-defined" and enter the Character with your own.
Start from : If you remember the beginning of the password characters check it and enter the Character.
End at : If you remember the end of the password characters check it and enter the Character.

 

7. Q:What is "Dictionary Attack"?

A: It is an effective attack for you to recover lost password with a default dictionary in the program. The program will try every password in the dictionary. Besides, you can add your own dictionary to the program for saving the recovery time. The dictionary is just a text file with one word at a line; lines are separated with line breaks.

 

8. Q:What is "Smart Attack"?

A: This Attack is an automatic attack. It will try all possible characters combinations include all printable characters. If you choose this attacking method, character range and mask symbol cannot be defined, user can only define how long of the password in Lenth Option.

 

9. Q:What is the "Program Priority"?

A:Changing Program Priority allows you to control the allocation of processing resources on your computer. By default, all processes are at normal priority.
Idle priority means that Word Password Rescuer will not interrupt other programs, so attacks will not decrease the performance of other running applications.
High priority means that Word Password Rescuer will use all available system resources. The performance of other applications will degrade but Word Password Rescuer will work as fast as possible.

 

10. Q:What if I stop recovering the password?

A: The program will save the recovery process automatically. And it will run again following that point even if it was suddenly suspended.

You can set the period in Auto-save Option. If you set it as 5 minutes, then the program will automatically save the process every 5 minutes. Select the check box "Save project every" to active it.

 

11. Q:What's the difference between the trial version and full version?

A: Word Password Rescuer trial version can recover any password by using all attacking methods on the program, but you can only view 3 or less characters of password.
