If you are using Windows server 2019/2016/2012/2008(R2)/2003(R2)/2000 and your computer is a domain controller, you should choose Advanced edition.

You can choose any of them on Range option to reduce the number of combinations so that the recovery time will be less.

 

7. Q:What is brute-force with mask attack?
A: This Attack is useful when you remeber a part of Password. For example if you remember that length of your password was 5 characters and password begins from "A", you can define the mask "A????" and save the time by trying 4 symbols instead of 5. A Password Mask must be defined to use this Attack.

 

8. Q:What’s "Character Set"?

A: It is only available to "Brute-force with Mask Attack" which instructs the program what characters have been used in the password and restrict the search area.
a-z, 0-9,A-Z, -_?!@#$... : Defined by the Predefined Passwords Ranges. If the password contains these, check it.
User-defined : You can define your own Character Set for the Brute-Force Attack. Check "User-defined" and enter the Character with your own.
Start from : If you remember the beginning of the password characters check it and enter the Character.
End at : If you remember the end of the password characters check it and enter the Character.

 

9. Q:What is "Dictionary Attack"?

A: This Attack verifies the words stored in the specified Dictionary File. The dictionary is just a text file with one word at a line; lines are separated with line breaks. You can set additional Dictionary Options for this Attack. This attack is highly recommended as it offers a smarter access to the password recovery. We has supplied a small Dictionary File containing common English words. You can also create a dictionary by listing your character sets that you frequently used to let the program base on when seeking passwords, such as your name, birthplace, birthday, etc. If so, the seeking scope will be largely reduced and it is bound to save time for the process.

 

10. Q:What is "Smart Attack"?

A:This Attack is an automatic attack. It will try all possible characters combinations include all printable characters. If you choose this attacking method, character range and mask symbol cannot be defined, user can only define how long of the password in Lenth Option.

 

11. Q:What is the "Program Priority"?

A:Changing Program Priority allows you to control the allocation of processing resources on your computer. By default, all processes are at normal priority.
Idle priority means that Access Password Rescuer will not interrupt other programs, so attacks will not decrease the performance of other running applications.
High priority means that Access Password Rescuer will use all available system resources. The performance of other applications will degrade but Access Password Rescuer will work as fast as possible.

 

12. Q:What if I stop recovering the password?

A: When you stop recovering the password, RAR Password Rescuer will save all setting and progress automatically. And it will run again following that point even if it was suddenly suspended.

You can set the period in Auto-save Option. If you set it as 5 minutes, then the program will automatically save the process every 5 minutes. Select the check box "Save project every" to active it.

 

13. Q:What's the difference between the trial version and full version?

A:You can try it for free. But the trial version only allows you to view all user accounts of you Windows system or recover file password which is made up with less than 3 characters.
